REBIRTH OF THE DEVIL’S DAUGHTERS…
The Devil’s Daughters was originally formed in 2011 by front woman Mysti Moon. The Daughters joined forces with Danny B Harvey back in 2012 where they recorded an album with a small label based out of PA and did several US tours before going on a hiatus just two short years later. Mysti continued working and performing with Danny releasing a duo album,”Hell Cat Stomp” on Cleopatra Records. After five years Mysti decided it was time for a revival of The Devil’s Daughters. She re-joined forces with Danny B. Harvey, welcomed a new partner/front woman Annie Marie Lewis and their EP’s “Rebirth” & “Revelations” were born! The band Devil’s Daughters are back and better than ever with two EP’s and a limited edition vinyl LP.

Mysti started singing professionally as a teenager opening for Dierks Bentley in 2003. After high school she started working as a solo artist and backup vocalist for Artimus Pyle (Lynyrd Skynyrd.) After joining forces with Danny B Harvey she’s opened for legends like Wanda Jackson and recorded with a handful of other amazing artists including Jyrki 69 (69 Eyes & 69 Cats.)
DANNY B. HARVEY…
Rockabilly guitar legend Danny played in the band Headcat for 18 years with the late Lemmy Kilmister from Motorhead. He’s worked with several amazing artists including Nancy Sinatra, Wanda Jackson and the Rockats. Danny is also married to DD front woman Annie Marie Lewis.
ANNIE MARIE LEWIS…
Annie, niece of the legend Jerry Lee Lewis, frequently opens for her Uncle Jerry with her mama Linda Gail Lewis. Annie’s first tour was singing back up for Van Morrison at 19. In 2017 Annie released a duet with the late Lemmy Kilmister as well as Jyrki 69 (69 Eyes.) She’s also married to DD’s guitar pickin’ man Danny B. Harvey.

Mysti is an Arizona native who has spent time living and preforming in Austin, TX while traveling all over the US with her long time friend and guitar slinger Danny B Harvey. Mysti has done several records with Danny including their side project “The Devil’s Daughters.” Though she is primarily known for her music, Mysti also models, acts, paints, creates one of a kind art pieces, does interior design and creates delicious confections!

MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): Hello, thank you so much for having me!! And I love the Siren title.
Athenscalling.gr: Pandemic COVID-19 and how pass all these crazy days?
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): I spent most of the days working for an online education company supporting students that were quarantined and unable to attend school. The world was on lockdown but that couldn’t keep our children from learning! Outside of working with schools, I spent a lot of time writing new music for a new record with Danny B Harvey.
Athenscalling.gr: And about the vaccine, have you to say something about it. What do you believe?
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): I don’t have much to say about the vaccine, it’s very controversial and I would rather not discuss sides.
Athenscalling.gr: Tell me please, how catastrophic, is the pandemic days for the music world?
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): The pandemic really put a halt on the live music industry. Living in the live music capital of Austin, TX, really showed just how detrimental it was to musicians’ lives. Many who only preformed music for a living fell on hard times and had to try and rely on live streaming for donations. Some were lucky enough to also have a side gig or day job to keep their lights on. Needless to say 2020 was one of the hardest years for musicians.
Athenscalling.gr: Let’s continue. I want ask you about the name of your band. The Devil΄s Daughters I think that is a really hot name. Who was the Godfather of the name…Who gives that?
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): I came up with the name The Devil’s Daughters back in 2011 when I was go-go dancing for rockabilly bands with a pin-up group called the Arizona Voodoo Kittens. The name just felt like a natural choice for a female fronted rockabilly band.
Athenscalling.gr: Devil΄s Daughters the name of your band … But I will give another name … why not, The Daughters of God…, because you and Annie, you are both, like the Goddess Aphrodite, of the Ancient Greeks.
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): Ha-ha… thank you, Annie was actually a guest vocalist for the second D.D record. But what woman doesn’t love being called a goddess?
Athenscalling.gr: Give us now the difference between the Devil and God, or the God and the Devil.
MYSTI MOON (The Devils Daughters): Well, the Devil was an angel from heaven right? He’s just known to “tempt” man, so isn’t the perfect name for a few singing temptresses “The Devil’s Daughters?” I’ve also always joked that Danny was the “Devil.”
Athenscalling.gr: Tell us now, about your career and about your band.
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): I am the main vocalist for The Devil’s Daughters. Music is in my blood, and I’ve been singing professionally since I was about 12 years old. Originally preforming classic country, blues, rock and jazz. Rockabilly came naturally as it’s that classic country and rock n roll sound. I started getting more involved in the scene when I joined a pin-up group in 2009 that hosted many events featuring rockabilly/psychobilly bands. From there, DD was born.Then there is the incredibly talented guitar slinger, or as I like to refer to him the Devil, Mr. Danny B. Harvey. I met Danny back in 2012 and we immediately hit it off. We instantly knew we were going to be a killer team. And I will say, once Danny got on board he brought DD to life making us a “band.” I decided early on that I would feature different female vocalists to team up with me on each record. My first guest was a friend of mine from Phoenix, AZ, Lisa Dahl and then most recently, Danny’s wife Annie Marie Lewis (the niece of the “killer,” Jerry Lee Lewis.)

MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): Talented, legendary, devilish!
Athenscalling.gr: Let’s talk now about the music and the lyrics of your songs, from the album … Rebirth + Revelations.
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): We wrote the songs in 3 weeks. The idea behind each of the songs varies. For example, “Girl Like Me” I wrote because of my obsession with classic horror characters. I find the vampire and the werewolf to be very alluring creatures, the song is very much about their sexual/seductive appeal.
“Baddest Girls in Town” is about us girls having fun, drinking, singing and ditching a guy after we’ve had our fun. Ha-ha! “Pedal to the Metal” is about chasing down a guy who’s done me wrong, and not stopping until him or the car dies.
Athenscalling.gr: I will honestly say… that you are a very beautiful woman. This helps your career or not?
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): I am sure it helps, it can also sometimes make things a little harder as well. Sometimes I have issues with not being taken seriously because I am a “pretty face.”

Tell us about it.
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): Thank you! I have been modeling and acting since I was a toddler, doing both print and commercials.The B&W photo by Daveed Benito was from a product shoot and commercial for a vape case company. And the B&W shot by Rick Marquez was just for my own portfolio. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some amazing and talented photographers. My most recent “acting” role was in the music video for “Opioid Diaries” off the new Offspring album “Let the Bad Times Role.” I am also featured in the album artwork shot by Daveed Benito.
Athenscalling.gr: Also I think that it is a great moment for you… the Alternative Modeling Portfolio Sample, it is more fantastic, Joker, Vampire, Day Of The Dead I & II. Which of the four do you prefer and why?
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): Those are just a sample some of the fun shoots I’ve done with Daveed Benito. I would say the Day of the Dead was probably my favorite, I sat in the makeup chair for hours!! Second being the vampire, it was a last-minute shoot, and I didn’t know what we would be doing that day. It was fall and cold in his studio and I was standing there in just my underwear. We kept microwaving the fake blood so I would be “less cold.” It was a fun day for sure.
Athenscalling.gr: Living in the past … Do you remember your first teacher in music?
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): My first professional vocal coach was Renee Grant Williams in Nashville, TN. She taught me how to harness the power in my vocal performance.
Athenscalling.gr: …And your first album that you bought? What music are you listening today? And what are your favourite bands or singers?
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): I think the first album I bought was the first Clay Walker self-titled album that came out in 1993. I bought it on cassette! I listen to just about every type of music out there. It depends on my mood ! Ι have favorites in many genres like, Patsy Cline, Etta James, Diana Krall, Sevendust, HIM, Black Pumas, Muddy Waters, Bessie Smith and Led Zeppelin.
Athenscalling.gr: About your discography now, 2 albums with The Devils Daughters and “Hell Cat Stomp” with Danny B. Harvey & Mysti Moon! Tell us about.
MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): The duo with Danny, “Hell Cat Stomp” was so much fun. Connecting a little more with the roots side recreating one of my favorite public domain songs “House of the Rising Sun.” We recorded the whole album at Danny’s house in 2 days! The Devil’s Daughters album “Rebirth & Revelations” was all about the rebirth of the band. It was a lot of fun and features some of my original songs written with Danny.

MYSTI MOON (The Devil΄s Daughters): Danny and I are currently working on a new EP that should be released early 2022!
